ABCs of ESDs (Click here to register)

This is an introductory course designed for persons who are just getting involved with Emergency Services Districts or for veterans who would like a refresher course. Students will get an overview of ESD issues. Texas A&M's V.G. Young Institute of County Government has certified this training for 2.5 hours of ESD Commissioner Training Credit. Longtime ESD Attorney Ken Campbell – who’s also a volunteer firefighter and ESD commissioner – sits down with SAFE-D to answer questions on legal issues that face Texas emergency services districts. This isn’t legal advice – districts will need to consult their own counsel for that – but it’s a broad-brush look at how to address legal topics that arise frequently for ESDs. Cost is only $75/representative of SAFE-D member ESD or affliated services provider; $125/nonmember.
