Application for 2026 Paula S. Barr Scholarship

Named for longtime SAFE-D Board Member and former Education Committee Chair Paula Barr after she retired from the Travis County ESD 6 and SAFE-D Boards in 2024, the scholarship is designed to allow ESD Commissioners the opportunity to attend the SAFE-D Annual Conference at a reduced cost to their District. This year's Conference will be January 29-31 at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio. Only currently-serving ESD Commissioners are eligible to apply.

Go HERE to apply for the scholarship. The SAFE-D Education Committee will evaluate the application and notify applicants of its determination. The scholarship recipient will receive complimentary registration to the 2026 SAFE-D Annual Conference and three nights stay at a Conference hotel (Jan. 28-30). The recipient is responsible for other travel expenses (e.g., transportation and meals).
